Tanzania is a country filled with experiences that are difficult to capture in a single photograph or video. It is watching the sun rise over the Serengeti, hearing the waves along the shores of Zanzibar, experiencing the energy of Dar es Salaam, learning the stories behind places like Butiama, and meeting people whose warmth stays with you long after the journey ends.
Butiama & Beyond grew from a desire to share more of that Tanzania with the world.

When many travelers first think about Tanzania, they understandably picture some of the country’s most famous attractions: Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Zanzibar.
Those places are extraordinary, but Tanzania has so much more to discover.
There is history. There is food. There are communities, traditions, cities, beaches, wildlife, music, and everyday experiences that give each destination its character.
That is part of what inspires us at Butiama & Beyond. We want travelers to see the Tanzania they have dreamed about while also discovering experiences they may never have known to look for.
